About Scalloping
Whether new to the experience or seasoned, there is nothing quite like the adventure of scalloping! The sea-life under the water is absolutely amazing and you are sure to have a great time gathering up these little treasures. Listed below are a few important things to know about scalloping with Captain Banks.
What You Should Know:
· Limit of 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per boat
· In order to keep 10 gallons, there must be 5 people on the boat
· I provide mask, snorkel and fins (may not accommodate all sizes)
· I provide mesh bags for collecting scallops
· There are several scallop cleaners located throughout Steinhatchee who will be glad to clean your catch for a charge or I will be glad to give you a quick lesson on cleaning.
What You Should Bring :
· Sunscreen (30 SPF or greater) No spray sunscreens Please!
· Hat or Cap
· Sunglasses
· Towel
· Food/Beverages
· Camera/Underwater Camera (Optional)
· Cooler to transport your catch home (I will provide ice)
· Comfortable/weather appropriate clothing.
· No dark soled shoes Please!
